As a lead support worker at HTH, I have a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use and offending histories as I have lived experience of these issues.
My own previous struggles with substance use and long-term unstable housing, gives me a unique insight into the difficulties, barriers and stigma our service users may be experiencing. This assists me to form positive, trusting working relationships including with individuals that may be historically hard to engage or distrusting of professional services. I am passionate about tailored support and I am keen to listen to the needs of the individuals I work with, supporting them to direct their own pathways towards more stable and happier lives. I believe in strong partnership working with other professionals to facilitate positive outcomes for those struggling with homelessness, insecure housing, mental health, substance use or offending history. I believe in people’s innate ability to change and I am champion this in my service users.
I am enthusiastic about my work, spending time with my family and further developing my skills and hobbies.
